Vegan frankfurters and burgers to be sold at Super Bowl

Even vegan football fans will have burger and hot dog options at the Super Bowl this year.

The so-called grain-meat products from Field Roast are going to be sold at MetLife Stadium. And expect the folks from the company to only be rooting for one team. They were formed in Seattle in 1997.

Their products going to be sold at a portable stand at section 144 of the station.

A vegan group says that other products, including soft pretzels, peanuts, popcorn, potato chips, Caesar salad, rice and beans (Taco's Raqueros), chop salad (Nonna Fusco's), and Asian Noodles (Lucky's) are also available at the stadium.

Field Roast frankfurters and burgers have been sold at Century Link Field in Seattle and Candlestick Park in San Francisco all season, the company says.

Veganism a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients. Many vegans also do not eat foods that are processed using animal products, such as refined white sugar and some wines.
