Gas leak causes traffic problems in Brookhaven

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities are on the scene of a gas main leak in Brookhaven.

According to Brookhaven Police, the incident blocked traffic at the intersection of Buford Highway and North Druid Hills.

A DeKalb County water crew apparently hit the buried gas line. The DeKalb County Fire Department is on the scene.

Traffic north of North Druid Hills was detoured on to Curtis Drive and traffic south of North Druid Hills was detoured onto West Druid.

Several businesses were evacuated as a precaution.

The roads were reopened just after 5 p.m.
