VIDEO: Quick thinking McDonough dad saves girl from sled-car crash

Posted: Updated:
MCDONOUGH, Ga. -

Caught on camera: a wrong turn on a sled could have landed a 5-year-old girl directly into the front of a car, if it were not for the swift action of a McDonough man.

The Neal family was on vacation in the mountains of Tennessee when the near-collision happened. Abbie, 5, veered out of control on a sled and headed towards a car.

Scott Neal jumped into action just in the nick of time.

"I just took off running as hard as I could and at the last second I did not realize, I didn't think I would get to her," Scott Neal said. "I just kind of dove and it was a miracle that I got to her, to be honest with you. I could actually see her face, I guess it was one of those slow-motion moments when she was literally you know a couple inches away from hitting her face on the front of that car."

The video shows an incredibly close call. The good news: the child was not injured (just shaken up).

Scott Neal broke a couple of ribs and banged up his leg.
