Duke Castiglione under hypnosis

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - One of the leading hypnotists in the world made a return to Good Day New York, more than 20 years after his first appearance on the morning TV show.

This time, Jacob Bimblich, Exec. Dir. of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Hypnosis and Holistic Science, put FOX 5 Sports Director Duke Castiglione under a "spell."

"You cannot be hypnotized against your will," said Bimblich.

Duke, who says he has an unhealthy addiction to diet soda, asked Bimblich to help him kick the habit.

Bimblich started by asking Duke to close his eyes and to relax every part of his body and listen to him count from one to ten.

"Concentrate on the sound of my voice. Diet soda is a very negative aspect. When you were a teenager you were overweight so you started to exercise and do cardio every day... running four miles every day...to keep yourself in shape. Diet soda is loaded with chemicals," Bimblich told Duke during the hypnosis session.

When it was over, Bimblich said diet soda would likely have a different taste to Duke. It remains to be seen if the hypnosis did the trick.

"I feel relaxed," said Duke.

According to Bimblich, his success rate with helping others kick habits like smoking is 80-90 percent.
