IM5: Not Just Another Boy Band

Posted: Updated:

If you haven't heard of this band yet, you soon will. Yes, that's because their managers are Simon Fuller from ‘American Idol' and Perez Hilton.

Fun facts about IM5 (Source: Nicole Nassar Public Relations)

Armed with an arsenal of musical talent, IM5 is quickly making waves as the world's next dominant boy band. The multi-cultured quintet comprised of band members Cole Pendery, Dalton Rapattoni , Dana Vaughns , Gabe Morales and Will Jay boast their own unique musical style that fuses together hook driven pop melodies, authentic vocal harmonies, and full blown dance routines. Unlike some of their boy band predecessors and peers, the group incorporates real instrumentation into their lives sets and recordings with Dalton Rapattoni on guitar and Will Jay on piano.

Founded by "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller, media icon Perez Hilton and acclaimed tour director Jamie King, the band was discovered on a national talent search which began in 2011. They spent the better part of a year in dance and vocal preparation, after which they began to release new, original content via the internet.

In April of 2012, the group was featured on the Tyler James Williams song "Don't Run Away," which was also the lead track from the Disney feature film "Let It Shine." "Everything About U," the band's first digitally released song, released in June 2012 and caught the attention of Radio Disney programming directors, who put the song in heavy rotation for the remainder of the year. The music video for their next release "Zero Gravity" had a strong debut on CBS' The Insider and their current single, "Can't Stay Away," features "Shake It Up" Disney star Bella Thorne.
