DETROIT (WJBK) -- Detroit police say two people are in custody after a 4-year-old girl accidentally shot her 4-year-old cousin to death with a loaded rifle she found under a bed at their grandfather's home on the city's west side.

Chief James Craig says a man and a woman are being held on charges of felons in possession of a firearm. Their identities were not immediately released.

Craig says the pair was at the home on Tuxedo Thursday afternoon when the girl found the gun. Police say she picked it up, pointed it at the boy and shot him once in the chest.
