Target sends out e-mail offering credit monitoring

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -

Target's Facebook and Twitter accounts have been busy since the company sent e-mails to millions of shoppers prompting concerns on whether the e-mails are another scam by identity thieves or the real deal.

FOX 10 checked and Target confirmed the e-mails were sent by the company to more than a 110 million customers impacted by the breach. The CEO of target apologizing for the data breach and directing customers to sign up for a year of free credit monitoring to protect them should a hacker try to use the stolen information.
