Yuengling To Re-Introduce Old Product

Posted: Updated:

Yuengling beer isn't known as a super sugary sweet frozen treat, but that doesn't mean they can't try.

The brewery started making ice cream in the 1920s to keep business thriving during prohibition. Now, 30 years after the idea was dropped, the company is resurrecting the tasty treat.

"For all those people who have asked, and for the many others who have not had the opportunity to try our ice cream, it is our pleasure to bring back the great tradition of Yuengling's Ice Cream," David Yuengling wrote.

At first, you'll see classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate hit the shelves, but don't be afraid to try something new; flavors like black and tan, for example. And no, that flavor has nothing to do with a bass and Guinness layered concoction, but everything to do with Yuengling's famous black and tan, with tasting notes of caramel and coffee.

You can also expect a chocolate-caramel mash-up for that line. Pennsylvania, take pride in this PA-based brewery and look forward to some unique ice cream opportunities.
