Philly Police Seek Public's Help Finding Gas Station Robbery Suspect

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The suspect robbed a gas station and took money, but he forgot to cover his face, so he's all over surveillance. The Philadelphia Police Department's Northeast Detectives needs the public's help to identify the suspect who robbed a Luke Oil Gas Station in Somerton.

On January 11, 2014, at 10:28 am, according to police, the suspect entered the Luke Oil Gas Station located at 12000 Roosevelt Boulevard. Once inside, authorities say, the suspect pulled a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. After the employee opened the register and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, investigators say.

Here's the suspect description based on police analysis of surveillance: White male, 20 years-of-age, 5'3″, thin build, light brown hair, blue eyes, unshaven, wearing a light brown jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, and armed with a handgun.

If you see this suspect, police say do not approach him; instead, contact 911 immediately.

To submit a tip via telephone, dial 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847.
