SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

A Scottsdale police officer has been released from a hospital after being injured in a one-vehicle accident on the Loop 101 freeway.

Scottsdale police say the officer was entering the Loop 101 when he noticed a vehicle speeding. As he accelerated to try to stop the driver, his motorcycle began to wobble out of control and he was ejected onto the freeway.

He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for cuts and a broken rib and then released.

Police say the officer is a 5-year veteran police officer.

The southbound lanes of Loop 101 at Frank Lloyd Wright were closed for four hours.
