Deputies raid Avondale massage business

AVONDALE, Ariz. -

Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office raided an Avondale massage business in the 1400 block of North Dysart Road.

Authorities served the search warrant before 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Arizona Medical Massage. A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said that the business is not a licensed medical marijuana dispensary and was operating as a massage business.

Investigators have arrested a total of 5 people. They also seized 2 vehicles, between 6 to 8 pounds of marijuana, and several thousand dollars in cash.

A dog was also taken byMaricopa County Animal Care & Control. While executing the search warrant one of the suspects told investigators that they were giving the dog, a Chihuahua, marijuana to calm it down. No word on whether additional charges for animal cruelty will be filed.
