New Sweetwater beer benefits 'The Giving Kitchen'

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Was your New Year's resolution to give back more? To become more charitable? To drink more beer? Well, Sweetwater Brewing Company can help you with that. Yes, all of it.

The Atlanta brewing magnate plans to release special ale for the benefit of hospitality workers in need. And Paul Milliken spoke to Sweetwater about the special brew on Tuesday morning.

The beer is called Second Helping IPA and it'll benefit The Giving Kitchen, which is a non-profit organization that helps give back to hospitality workers experiencing hardships.

Chef Ryan Hidinger, formerly of Muss and Turners in Smyrna and Local Three in the Westside Provision District, created the recipe. Hidinger was recently diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy; he and his wife helped to create The Giving Tree.

Second Helping will be available beginning Tuesday, January 14 at local package stores and on tap at participating restaurants around the city.
