Hour by hour look at metro Detroit snow storm 2014

Posted: Updated:
(WJBK) -

Weather Authority Derek Kevra here: Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the entire viewing area through the day. Snow is picking up right now and will stay heavy through the evening. Snowfall rates are expected to reach 1/2" or 1" per hr at the peak of the storm, so the snow totals will add up fast.

Snow totals so far today have been reported 2-6" with the higher totals in our northern and western communities, so with another 4-6" expected through the afternoon/evening before ending early Monday a general 8-12" of TOTAL snow is expected with over a foot possible in some isolated locales.

Then our attention turns to the cold. A Wind Chill Warning goes into effect early Monday and lasts through the day and into Tuesday. That means wind chill values are forecast to drop between -20°F and -30°F both of those days.

Six people were indicted Wednesday in an international ring that managed to take over more than 1,000 StubHub users' accounts and fraudulently buy tickets to such prime events as Jay-Z and Elton John concerts, a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game and Broadway shows like "The Book of Mormon," the Manhattan district attorney said. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said the thieves would then resell the tickets and split up the proceeds.
