A man and a woman were charged in connection to a shooting and battery Friday night in the South Shore neighborhood on the South Side.
Timothy Styles, 36, was ordered held on a $900,000 bond Sunday, while 35-year-old Holly Graves was held on $75,000, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.
Police said Styles was fighting with a 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man about 7 p.m. Friday night when he pulled out a gun and shot the two in the 2600 block of East 76th Street. The woman was hit in her left arm, and the man was struck in his right arm.
Styles then allegedly started beating the 23-year-old with an object handed to him by Graves, who lives in the same block where the incident happened, police said.
The injured woman was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, while the man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Both were "stable" Friday night, but no updates on their conditions were immediately known Sunday evening, police said.
Styles, of the 7800 block of South Burnham Avenue, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm and two counts of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon, police said. Graves was charged with one count of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon.
Styles and Graves are both scheduled to appear in court again Jan. 3, the sheriff's office said.
