Teen charged with shooting 15-year-old boy in bed

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

A 17-year-old boy is in custody after allegedly shooting a teenager. Police say Jacob Christmas is being charged with aggravated assault and that could be upgraded to murder if the 15-year-old boy dies.

Jonathan Pearcey was shot in his home around 3:30 a.m. Friday. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Police say Christmas had an argument with Pearcey at his home on Hill Crest Drive the day before. The teen left the house and returned hours later with a gun. They say he shot Pearcey while he was in his bed.

Christmas was caught not too far from the crime scene after witnesses told police the direction they spotted him running. They also say they recovered the weapon used in the shooting.

Unfortunately, three piglets did not survive the fire.
