Worker given candy at pizza place says it was laced with drugs

Jony Dibora was at Primo's Pizza in Oak Park Friday night where he has worked for 13 years when a customer came in. Dibora says the customer appeared to be an average customer when he paid for his pizza, and then the customer handed over a brand-name candy bar and wished him a merry Christmas.

"I opened it up, put it in my mouth, ate it, swallowed it and then there was an aftertaste after I swallowed it. You know, it was like a small odor," Dibora describes. Within an hour Dibora says he started feeling like the room was spinning.

Employees called 911 and an ambulance rushed Dibora to Beaumont Hospital. Dibora says a high level of marijuana was found in his system.

"I've never taken drugs - I mean ever - in my life. No marijuana, no thing, I've never smoked," Dibora says. He gave the candy wrapper to Oak Park police and believes it was laced with drugs.

"It was completely sealed. So, if it's sealed, I mean, what are you thinking? Nothing's been tampered with, it hasn't been modified or anything like that," Dibora says when asked why he accepted the candy bar.

Dibora is out of the hospital after spending 12 hours there on Saturday, and is back to work.
