Beyoncé: Motherhood changed me

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Beyoncé is one of the biggest superstars in the world. She's also a wife and mother. Now she says being a mom has changed the way she looks at herself and her career.

In a rare public appearance by Beyoncé after a private directors' screening of her new visual album, she took the microphone to the crowd's delight. She said she is proud of herself as a woman and that motherhood has changed her perspective on life. She said being a mom helped her embrace her imperfections (not that any are visible) and all the things that make a woman interesting that might not fit society's expectations.

"I feel completely liberated, and I could no longer create art for other people," she said.

What she did was change the game by taking charge of every aspect herself.

"I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire," she said.

With the instant success of this album, Beyoncé becomes the first woman artist to have her first 5 albums top the charts. You can believe this won't be the only record she breaks.
