NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

On the heels of positive feedback from its Fourth of July and Halloween light shows, the Empire State Building launched its first Christmas-themed light show series.

The iconic tower's LED light shows will be synchronized to holiday music playing on radio station 106.7 Lite fm for five nights Friday, December 20, through Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at 7 p.m. each night.

The first show was set to "Holly Jolly Christmas" and "Christmas Wrapping."

If you miss the show, you can catch a replay on the building's YouTube channel.

These are the songs scheduled for the next four shows:

  • Saturday: "Let It Snow" (Dean Martin) and "All Alone on Christmas" (Darlene Love)
  • Sunday: "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" (Brenda Lee) and "Sleigh Ride" (Karmin)

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.

Heavy thunderstorms swept through the tri-state on Sunday causing flash floods and lightning strikes that injured 3 people. The three men were struck at Orchard Beach in the Bronx Sunday afternoon and were being treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, various Labor Day weekend celebrations were interrupted, delayed and even canceled as the U.S. Open tennis tournament had to be postponed and the Electric Zoo musical festival on Randall's Island had to be prematurely shut down.
