CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Northwest Side community will host a meeting Thursday, Dec. 19 to discuss the brutal attack and rape of a 15-year-old girl in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood.

Local alderman and Chicago police will discuss the incident and offer tips on how to keep children safe.

"Tuesday's brutal attack has shocked our whole community," said Alderman Sposato (36th). "I want to thank the Northwest Side Housing Center, Alderman Ariel Reboyras (30th), and the Chicago Police for putting this meeting together so quickly so the members of the community can ask questions and learn tips on how to stay safe."

The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Northwest Community Church, located at 5318 W. Diversey Ave. It is open to any concerned community members who would like to attend.

The meeting was organized by the Northwest Side Housing Center.
