OAK LAWN, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A northwest Indiana woman who won $350,000 in the Illinois Lottery is planning to spend her winnings on her grandchildren.

Raquel Sanchez, 60, was on her way to visit her two daughters in Oak Lawn when she stopped and bought a lottery ticket at a Citgo gas station, at 6801 W. 87th St. in Oak Lawn, according to a release from the Illinois Lottery.

The ticket matched all five winning numbers — 09 – 20 – 22 – 24 – 27 — in the Nov. 23 Lucky Day Lotto drawing, the release said.

Sanchez, who is retired from the medical industry, lives with her husband, a retired policeman, in Whiting, Ind., the release said. She plans to use the money to open a college savings account for each of her four grandchildren.

"The first thing on my mind when I bought this lottery ticket was my grandchildren. They are my pride and joy and this prize is for them!" Sanchez said.
