Surveillance Video Shows Passengers Subduing Robber

Posted: Updated:

After an armed robber tries to rob a man on a bus, all the other passengers rally and subdue the would-be robber.

This incident happened in Seattle, Washington, and the whole incident was captured on camera. The robber walks to the back of the bus with his gun to his side. He points it at a man with glasses.

Instead of backing down, the man, grabs at the gun and start struggling with the robber. For a few seconds, the fellow passengers watch, but very soon, at least three others join in the fray and start wildly punching the robber. The struggle almost looks like it will get out of hand, as the fray briefly goes onto the seats, where a little girl sits and she gets buried under the fray. However, the group eventually get the robber on the ground and subdue him.

The video from Nov. 25 is evidence in the case against 19-year-old Trevonnte Brown of Seattle. He pleaded not guilty on Monday to robbery charges and is jailed with bail set at $350,000.

The video shows the robber taking phones before pointing his gun in the face of one man who pushes it away and fights back. Other passengers jump in and subdue the man.

One of the passengers who was robbed, Chris Briggs, told KOMO that he initially handed over his phone when he was jabbed with the gun.

After he saw his fellow passenger fight back and scuffle with the robber, Briggs jumped in to help hold him and get his possessions back.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
