CTA Blue Line service resumes after `major` delays

Normal service is resuming on the CTA Blue Line after a mechanical problem on a train caused major delays during Thursday morning's commute.

The delays began about 8:40 a.m. near the Irving Park station at 4131 W. Irving Park Rd., according to the CTA.

Normal service resumed by 9:30 a.m. The delays were caused by a mechanical problem near the Irving Park station, according to the CTA.

Some residual delays and high passenger loads on trains may still occur.
