Michigan man charged with promoting prostitution at O`Hare hotel

A Michigan man has been arrested for allegedly promoting prostitution at a hotel near O'Hare International Airport following an undercover police investigation.

Maurice Thompson, 23, of Highland Park, Mich., was arrested last Wednesday after authorities started investigating an advertisement on the website Backpage.com, the Cook County Sheriff's office said in a release.

Members of the sheriff's office's Vice Unit learned Thompson allegedly arranged a date and a hotel room for a woman for the purpose of engaging in prostitution, the release said.

Thompson was arrested last Wednesday at a hotel near O'Hare Airport and charged with felony promoting prostitution, the release said. He was ordered held on $10,000 bond during a hearing Saturday, and will next appear in court Tuesday.
