(WJBK) -

A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident November 29. His femur and knee were shattered and his shoulder and hand were fractured.

Redford police asked for the public's help locating the vehicle they believed was involved in the accident, a white Volkswagen Jetta. An auto repair shop contacted police saying a vehicle with that description was turned into them just hours after the time of the accident. The driver came to get a quote about repair to the badly-damaged vehicle.

Now Redford police are asking for the public's help identifying the person who dropped the vehicle off to the auto shop.

There he goes - the person police say is likely responsible for crashing this car into a 30-year-old man as he walked down the sidewalk on Glenmore street in Redford the afternoon of Nov. 29th.

Take a close look at the suspect: dreadlocks, lip gloss and this badly damaged 2011 white Volkswagen Jetta.

"[He] appeared to be a male dressed as a female, had a blue purse and took some clothes and items out of the car and got a cab," says Officer Jon Strong of Redford Police.

Police say it appears the man, dressed as a woman, dropped the car off at L.A. Auto Repair within hours of the crash that left the victim with a shattered femur and knee and a fractured shoulder and hand. The victim, who suffers from schizophrenia, has undergone several surgeries to try and save his leg.

And get this - police say it appears this was no accident.

"It appears to be a deliberate act right now. Obviously as we get more information things may change but right now we just don't know the motive," says Strong.

Did the men even know each other? Or was it just another senseless crime?

Just last Monday another special needs man was attacked at a Redford gas station as he waited in line to buy some snacks. Police still need help locating the man responsible for that horrible crime, and they need help identifying this guy, too.

Police are now processing that car asking for your help. If you know anything about the man involved call Redford Police.

Reports of a 16-foot-long exotic snake slithering around New Jersey's largest lake are apparently a suburban legend or the snake just isn't hungry.
A 16-foot-long exotic snake reportedly slithering around New Jersey's largest lake is apparently a suburban legend. Or the snake just isn't hungry. The state has stopped looking for the reptile after scientists failed to find any evidence of it in Lake Hopatcong and traps baited with chicken were left untouched. Three unconfirmed sightings this month of a snake, perhaps an anaconda as long as 16 feet, raised concerns among visitors and swimmers.
