(FOX 11 / CNS) Searchers today found a 19-year-old Arcadia woman who had been missing overnight in the San Gabriel Mountains in near-freezing temperatures.

Bora Kim was found after daybreak, and a helicopter crew hoisted her from the remote area and brought her to safety about 7:40 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported. The temperature in the area was reported to be 35.8 degrees around the time she was found.

Kim had not been heard from since she made a cell phone call to a a friend around 6 p.m. Thursday to say she was lost in the mountains, said Arcadia police Lt. Bob Anderson.

The woman had told her friend she could not describe where she was, except that there was a waterfall nearby, added Deputy Dan Paige of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Altadena Station.

Anderson said Kim was last seen around 8 a.m. Thursday, when her mother dropped her off at a bus stop in Arcadia. The Pasadena Community College student was en route to the campus.
