"My God - all I have is memories and pictures. That's all I have."

Wendy Ridgeway was just 15 when she gave birth to her first son, Kasey Manciel. Now that beloved boy is a 40-year-old man and Wendy has to bury him.

"I don't know how I'm going to do it without him. He's always been right there by my side."

Late Monday night on Grove Street in Highland Park Kasey's cousin was driving him home from getting a bite to eat. Kasey got out of the car - right here in front of his home - to throw away some trash.

Kasey was at the garbage can throwing stuff away when the gunman came from across the street, walked right in front of Kasey's cousin's car, right up here to the sidewalk and started shooting.

Kasey, the guy everybody loved, the guy always cleaning up the neighborhood, was hit and hit again. A relative heard the shooting and opened the door. The gunman fired at him, shattering the glass, leaving behind so many bullets, holes in the door, shell casings in the dirt, and Kasey, an aspiring chef, a beloved son, a father of three - in a pool of blood.

"I'm not letting this go because this was my child, this was my baby, my first-born son and he did not deserve to be gunned down like that."

Wendy Ridgeway just can't take it anymore.

Back in 1985 her husband was shot and killed in Detroit. Two years ago her brother was shot and killed while riding his bike in Detroit. And listen to this - in 1993 she lost her son Reuben, just ten years old, killed during a driveby as he sat on the steps of their Highland Park home. Now her son Kasey has been killed - just one street away.

All of the murders are unsolved.

"It's just too much in the city; it's just too much. How much can I take?"

Anyone with any information please contact Crime Stoppers or Highland Park Police. This mother needs closure and for once - justice.

"I just can't imagine life without him. ... I need to know who and why. I just need to know."
