NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Two workers at a historic upstate hotel are under arrest and accused of stealing gifts from couples getting married at the place they worked.

The New York State Police arrested Bradlee J. Moore, 23, of Hudson, and Katie L. Hendrix, 33, of Kingston, after what they called a "lengthy" investigation.

Police say the pair was stealing wedding cards from newlywed couples holding wedding festivities at the Rhinecliff Hotel, where the two worked.

Moore and Hendrix are no longer employed at the Rhinecliff, according to the hotel's owner, James Chapman.

"This is a shocking and disturbing occurrence that deeply saddens us, we have been cooperating fully with the police in their investigations and we await the outcome of Thursday's hearing," Chapman said, referring to the December 5th court date at which Moore and Hendrix will face misdemeanor petit larceny charges.

Police did not release information on just how many weddings were robbed.

The Rhinecliff bills itself as a boutique country hotel. It is about 2 hours north of New York City and is located on the banks of the Hudson River.

A state agency is suggesting summer shutdowns at the Indian Point nuclear power plant in the New York suburbs. The idea is to protect migrating and spawning fish who might otherwise get sucked into the plant. Indian Point takes 2.5 billion gallons a day from the Hudson River to make steam and cool its two reactors.
