SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

From Soupy Sales to Bill Kennedy, from the late 1940s to the 1990s, Detroit television has a rich history  of influencing how we laughed, what we ate, how we saw the world and even how we danced.

Four metro Detroit natives, including Michael Collins and veteran newsman/professor Tim Kiska, collected tape over the past five years, some of it quite rare.

The one hour documentary titled 'Detroit Remember When: The History of Detroit TV' will air on Detroit Public TV tonight, December 2nd at 8 p.m.
