DETROIT (WJBK) -- Three Detroit police officers have been injured in a rollover accident on the city's west side.

Sgt. Michael Woody says the accident happened after 1 p.m. Wednesday on Greenfield near Santa Maria Ave.

Woody say the officers were responding to an armed robbery call when a motorist traveling in the opposite direction crossed into their lane, causing the unmarked cruiser to swerve, crash and roll before coming to a stop in front of nearby town homes.

Detroit firefighters had to cut one of the victims out of the vehicle. A neighbor who witnessed the accident helped get the other two officers out of the car.

"I thought everybody in there was probably was either dead or unconscious, but luckily they was alive; everybody was breathing. It was a blessing they were able to walk away from it today," says Marcus Bryan, the neighbor who helped the officers.

Fox 2's Amy Lange reports the victims, two officers and one sergeant, were taken to Sinai Grace Hospital.
