Police in Oak Park and Ferndale are seeking a third suspect after an Oak Park home was invaded and a 7-Eleven clerk in Ferndale was robbed an gunpoint. Two suspects have already been arrested and are in police custody.

The men suspected in connection with these crimes according to police are Jalen Turner, 18, and Gerald Turner, 29. Police believe the name of the third suspect is Tarus Richardson, a 24-year-old resident of Detroit.

Police say a home in Oak Park was invaded and the residents robbed by the suspects. It is unclear if two or three of the men were involved.

Two of the suspects went to a nearby 7-Eleven store and robbed a clerk at gunpoint, police say. It is unclear at this time which of the two suspects were involved. Fox 2's Maurielle Lue reports the weapon turned out to be a toy. Lt. William Wilson of Ferndale police say the suspects took cash from the register, lottery tickets and cigarettes.

The clerk called police who located the getaway vehicle, who was being driven by a third person, and pursued the suspects in what Williams describes as a "dangerous vehicle chase."

The chase started near Nine Mile and Livernois roads, and soon after it began a second police car arrived. The suspects were said to have sped up and then crashed into a light pole. All three took off running. Two were apprehended and taken into custody.  

"They could have killed themselves or others right near the end before they crashed into a pole. They almost had a T-bone accident with another crossing vehicle," Williams says.
