Posted: Updated:

A UCLA football player is facing a possible charge of sexual assault following his weekend arrest at an apartment complex near the campus, university officials confirmed today.

Torian White, 20, was arrested by campus police sent to the Glenrock Avenue building on a report of a disturbance about 3 a.m. Sunday.

"We are aware of the situation involving Torian White, and we take these accusations very seriously," UCLA football coach Jim Mora said in a statement issued by the university."Torian has been suspended from the team indefinitely while the legal.

process and student discipline process run their course," Mora said. "Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to discuss this matter further at this time."

White is being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility near downtown Los Angeles, according to the sheriff's Inmate Information Center website. No information was listed regarding a court appearance or bail.

White, who has attended UCLA since the fall 2011 semester, is an offensive lineman for the Bruins, but has not played since injuring his right leg during the team's Oct. 3 game at Utah, according to the university.
