The suspect in a double-stabbing in Merchantville was charged today by police. The arraignment for suspect Gilbert Villanueva was held at approximately 2:30 today.

According to authorities, Suzanne DuRocher, 50, and daughter Kristen Durocher, 22, were both stabbed multiple times on Wednesday night. Suzanne Durocher later died from her injuries, Kristen is stable in Cooper Hospital.

Gilbert Villanueva, 26, was admitted to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. He had injuries on his hands that were consistent with knife wounds, says police. Police eventually connected him with the Merchantville stabbing after being reported by hospital staff of the suspicious wounds..

It is alleged that the stabbing occurred after Villanueva entered Durocher's house and was unwelcomed.

DuRocher worked at Temple University Hospital, and her colleges issued a statement for the press. "For the past eight years, Suzanne has been a vital and well-respected member of the Hospital's leadership team," they write. "She touched each of us … and our patients … in a very special way."
