Police: Woman shot outside of home on Detroit's west side

A woman has been shot in the head outside of a home on Brace Street, near Southfield Freeway and Ford Road, police say.

Reports of the shooting came just before 10 p.m.

Investigators tell Fox 2's Ron Savage the people inside the home heard pounding on their front door. As they were looking through the glass to determine who was outside they heard a gunshot.

Police are looking for the shooter. No description is available at this time.

The victim was rushed to Oakwood Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

    An ex-convict suspected of gunning down a Nassau County police officer and then fatally shooting a carjacking victim was found guilty on all counts in the murders on Monday. Darrell Fuller, 33, shot and killed Police Officer Arthur Lopez in October 2012 who suspected he had been involved in a hit-and-run car accident. Authorities said Fuller then fled that shooting and killed the second victim, Raymond Facey of Queens, while stealing his vehicle.
