New Video of Brazen Bank Robbery

Posted: Updated:

New surveillance video has been released in a bold Chester County bank robbery and police think the thieves may be connected to a similar robbery in Montgomery County.

The video was taken Tuesday afternoon, shows a trio of masked men bursting into an East Pikeland Township Wells Fargo bank on the 200 block of Schuylkill Road.

What looked like a normal afternoon suddenly turned terrifying for customers and bank employees. The men wearing all black and ski masks walked into the bank and demanded money. Customers and tellers were told to get on the ground as the robbers pointed guns and grabbed money.

"They are dangerous people. They belong in jail and we hope we get them soon" said East Pikeland Township Police Chief James Franciscus.

The startling scene played out in less than 2 minutes.  Horrified bank employees scurried and huddled in a back room while the robbery was taking place.

Police say the men got away with an undetermined amount of cash.  Investigators also say the same men may be responsible for a similar bank robbery last Thursday at a Bala Cynwyd Wells Fargo.

"They do seem very similar. They are dressed the same, same hand gestures, We are concerned about that" said Franciscus.

In both robberies the men wear ski masks, carry guns and use a black duffle bag for their haul. Investigators fear the crooks may take their crimes to the next level if they're not caught soon.

"I think it was well planned out these guys knew what they were doing and I think as they go they are going to get more and more brazen" said Franciscus.

If you have any information about the case please call the East Pikeland Police Department at (610) 935-0606
