(WJBK) -

To help honor those who serve and those who have served on Veterans Day 2013, Fox 2 asked its viewers to send in photos of loved ones, friends and family who answered the call of duty.

The photos are being used to create a "Tribute to Our Troops" photo gallery.

It's also to help commemorate the 10th Anniversary Special "Tribute to Our Troops" that airs Monday, Veterans Day, at 6:30 p.m., of course right here on Fox 2.

So far we've received well over 100 photos.

While our team worked to publish the photos, one, among the many great ones, stands out.

Diane submitted the photo in this story.  In the caption she posted this:

Norbert Dlugoss proudly served in World War II.  He passed away November 4, 2013, just days ago.  Norm and his wife would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Veteran's day, today.  We all miss and love him.

Diane (James) Munroe told posted the photo.  She told me over the phone that her dad was a true family man.  He worked at Ford as a design engineer.  He and his wife June had five kids, 7 grand kids and 7 great- grand kids.  They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on Monday.  He served in the 82nd Airborne Division during Word War II.

Our condolences to the Dlugloss family.  We also salute Norbert Dlugloss and express our deepest gratitude for serving this great country.  God Speed.

The Fox 2 Family.

When 826 NYC, a nonprofit organization that fosters creative writing skills, asked children ages 9-12 to dream up the ultimate lemonade stand, the responses were huge. The winning project of  The Great Lemonation Imagination Collaboration was turned into a real lemonade stand complete with free lemonade in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The organization's members were also required to help run the stand that went up at Broadway and 23rd Street on Wednesday.

Times Square characters want to be taken seriously and want their tips. The mostly immigrant workers are now called the Association of Artists United for a Smile and are fighting to protect their jobs, in light of a recent crackdown. Jorge Duran says he stands around for hours, sweating inside a costume, and says it is annoying and unfair if he poses for a good picture and gets nothing.
