Phoenix Veteran's Day Parade: Saluting America's Veterans

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

It's one of the biggest Veteran's Day parades in the country -- nearly 100 floats in honor of our nation's veterans.

The parade kicked off at 11 a.m. and at Noon, the floats, bands and marchers were still starting out -- a parade that delighted a huge crowd as it made its way through central Phoenix.

What a great way to see the Veteran's Day parade -- up front, up high, on a truck and not just any truck.

We rode with military vets Alfred Sandoval and his friends waving to the crowd.  He served in Iraq and this day means a lot.

"It means be proud of being an American, just proud to be here and wave to the crowd saying hello," he said.

There were spectacular bands, an eye-popping display of classic cars and grandparents proud of their grand kids.

"My granddaughter is in the parade.  She was Miss Valley Valiant Princess.. proud of her and all the girls and everyone that is coming out today," said Sarah Kaiser.

Biplanes trailing colorful smoke put the finishing touches on a perfect day.

A lot of fun at the parade Monday, but also a sense of gratitude for all veterans have done for our country.
