Strangers help veteran's widow, son get new home

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -

A group of volunteers will spend Veterans Day giving back to a young family who has sacrificed so much for their country.  On Monday, work will begin on a house that will soon belong to Kristen Davis and her 1-year-old son, Benjamin.

Davis' husband, Jonathan, was killed in Afghanistan last year when she was still 8 months pregnant with their son.  They've been living with her parents for nearly a year and a half, but soon they'll have a place of their own.

Thanks to the folks at Square Foot Ministries, Kristen and Ben will be able to start a new chapter in their lives.  The group has built two other homes for military families, and on Monday, volunteers will raise walls and put up a roof on the Davis' future house.
