Community activists and others are outraged over the young woman's death. Many are asking why a gun was pulled on McBride in the first place and why no one is in jail for the shooting. The National Action Network Rally took place at Detroit's King Solomon Baptist Church. McBride was shot in the face a week ago, her family says she was in a car accident in Dearborn Heights and her cell phone battery was dead so she went looking for help.

"I want justice for my niece," said Bernita Spinks. "I don't want this guy walking around he needs to be locked up."

The homeowner has told police he thought someone was breaking in. He says the gunshot was an accident. Police are still collecting evidence and the Wayne County Prosecutor is considering charges. Stay with Fox 2 for updates on this developing story.
