MARANA, Ariz. -

Pinal County Sheriff's deputies found more than a dozen marijuana plants inside a home after serving a search warrant looking for stolen property.

Deputies found 14 pot plants inside the house near Annadale and Bloom Drive.

Authorities were doing surveillance on the home after they were tipped off about a burglary that happened back in October.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, "During the execution of the search warrant detectives recovered two gas generators and other property belonging to the victim of the prior burglary. Also inside of the residence, detectives located several marijuana plants. The marijuana plants were turned over to the Marana Police Department for investigation. There were a total of 14 marijuana plants, varying in size from potted plants to some over six feet tall."

29-year-old Michael White and 40-year-old Dawn Hay were booked into the Pima County Jail for burglary, theft, criminal trespass and possession of stolen property.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
