ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

Construction workers in St. Paul are cleaning up a big mess at the Bradley House Apartment Complex near the Sun Ray shopping center after a man arrested on drunk driving charges crashed a car through two walls.

Fortunately, no one was hurt when what appeared to be a black Ford Taurus careened down a hill and plowed through the side of the building on Wilson Avenue, but the damage has become the talk of the town. One resident described the sound of the impact as a "sonic boom."

Residents equipped with cell phone cameras quickly gathered to survey the wreckage of the car, which broke through and outside wall and came to a rest in the hallway after breaking through the kitchen of one unit.

"It was kind of gruesome," Aaron Parker, a building resident, told Fox 9 News. "The car was just smashed up against the wall. It was just weird, honestly."

According to police, the hole 35-year-old Timothy Sanford left behind is nearly as big as his criminal record. His rap sheet is 18 pages long and includes charges ranging from theft and child neglect to domestic assault and citations for containing an open bottle in a vehicle. Just last year, he served time in the work house for obstructing the legal process.
