It was grisly scene at Bungalow and Tamarack Avenue in Elsmere, Delaware.

That's where first responders found 18-year-old Jesus Martinez pinned under a van…after being dragged at least 100 feet by the vehicle according to investigators The driver of the van? His own sister.

Police Chief Laura Giles says 19-year-old Sheila Martinez-Rodriguez was fighting with her brother in the van before he got out.

Investigators say she ran him down and dragged him. She then made a U-turn before ditching the vehicle with him still underneath it.

"I'm sure she was probably terrified. So she fled the scene. I can't go with what was in her mind but she was apprehended at McDonalds on Route 2 and 7," Giles said.

Crews worked frantically to get Martinez out from under the van. He was airlifted to Christiana Hospital where he died.

A baseball bat was found at the scene but investigators wouldn't say how it was connected to the case.

The police chief says this crime scene will leave a mark in her mind.

The Hess triangle is a tiny piece of private property in Greenwich Village. Manhattan historian Joyce Gold explained the origins of the property: After World War I, New York City seized a beautiful residence and tore it down so it could extend Seventh Avenue and the west side subway below it. The city left the building's owner only a tiny scrap of property so small it requested he donate the triangle to make way for a sidewalk. The man refused, took the city to court and won.
