Who is Richard Schoop?

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - The suspected gunman at the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, New Jersey lived in Teaneck, according to police.

Richard Schoop, 20, reportedly worked at a pizzeria in the Bergen County town. He opened fire inside the mall just after 9 p.m. on Monday.

There were no reports of injuries. His body was later found in a remote area of the mall. He apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Police swarmed the family home at 534 Emerson Ave. following the Monday night shooting.

A man believed to be Schoop's father came out of the house, fell to his knees and began wailing and asked police if there presence was for his son.

A note was found at the family home but police would not classify it as a suicide note.

Police are investigating.
