Funeral services held for AMS' Marcy Scott

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -

Funeral services were held today for Marcy Scott, the long-time director of public relations and marketing for Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Hundreds of people from the world of NASCAR attended the services at Eastminister Presbyterian in Stone Mountain to celebrate a life cut short by cancer.

Scott was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago and battled the disease with ferocity until her death last Friday. Her toughness was just one of the qualities friends and family remembered at her service.

Even though it was time to say goodbye to her, those that gathered found it hard not to smile or laugh when friends told old stories of memories they shared together.  Marcy's boss at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Ed Clark, said her presence was one-of-a-kind.  

"If Marcy was around whatever you're doing is going to be fun -- even in the most serious circumstances," Clark said. "She found a way to make it entertaining, fun and had great energy and enthusiasm and great life, day out and that's what I remember the most about her."
