HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - A vote for Gov. Chris Christie in his re-election bid next week may put someone else in office, at least for many days.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno is likely to spend more time serving as governor if Christie is re-elected to a second term because Christie is in line to be chairman of the Republican Governor's Association next year.

That job would take him away from New Jersey frequently. He'll be away even more and could resign if he runs for president in 2016.

Guadagno is in charge of recruiting and retaining businesses in the state. She also helps firms deal with regulations, and often gives business leaders her personal cellphone number.

She says she won't talk yet about whether she might run for governor in 2017.
