A touching photo appeared on the Austin Fire Department website, showing a scared and helpless dog clinging to a firefighter after being rescued from flood waters.

The image has more than 3,000 likes and 6,000 shares. Under the photo, the caption reads, "We don't just rescue two-legged victims...we love our four-legged friends as well. Two of AFD's finest--Firefighter Matt Harvey and Firefighter Michael Cooper, both from B shift--show just what that means."

More than 15 inches of rains washed out certain areas in Texas on Wednesday and Thursday. Some neighborhoods around the Austin area were put on mandatory evacuation.

This touching moment with the dog was captured in the town of Pleasant Valley.

Many viewers of the photo have been touched and expressed their emotions.

Christina Strobo wrote, "I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes!!! Thank you for saving this dog!!"

Heath Smith wrote," Wish I was that dog!!"
