NEW YORK (AP) - A performance artist has won her suit against the NYPD for arresting her for baring her breasts in public.

The New York Post  reports that Holly Van Voast settled the suit for $40,000.

The 46-year-old artist goes topless while sporting a penciled in moustache and Marilyn Monroe hairdo.

She claimed she was illegally arrested at least 10 times for going topless in public "while exercising her right to be topless anywhere a man is permitted to be topless."

She says she didn't expose herself. Instead, she says "I exposed everybody else."

According to court papers, the city has also agreed to pay Van Voast's legal fees.

Going topless in public is not illegal in New York State.

    The ex-wife of an Arizona shooting range instructor accidentally killed by a 9-year-old girl learning to use an Uzi said Friday that her family plans to write the child a letter to comfort her.  Instructor Charles Vacca was standing next to the girl on Monday at the Last Stop range in White Hills, Arizona, about 60 miles south of Las Vegas, when she squeezed the trigger.
