Police warn of West Side armed robberies

Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing at least two businesses at gunpoint in the last week on the West Side.

The suspect enters a business, pulls a handgun and demands the cashier open the register, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

The robberies happened about 5:15 p.m. Oct. 19 in the 6900 block of South Pulaski, and about 11:12 a.m. Oct. 23 in the 5400 block of South Pulaski, police said.

The suspect is described as a -black man 17-37, between 6-foot and 6-foot-5, and 160-180 pounds.
