Cell phones come in handy in a lot of situations like when your car breaks down or when you need directions. However, how about when you come face-to-face with a shooter?
A gas station clerk in Florida considers himself very lucky after his cell phone stopped a bullet from going into his chest. His HTC smartphone was not only shattered, but there's an indentation from the bullet.
Police say that on Monday, just before 5 a.m., a robber went into a Hess station and demanded money from the safe.
When the clerk couldn't open the safe, the robber fired a few shots and left. It wasn't until police arrived that the clerk realized that he had been hit.
"When they removed his cell phone, they realized it was damaged and had a bullet in it," said police.
Police say that the clerk was feeling a little pain from the impact of the bullet hitting the phone in his chest pocket. The clerk was taken to the hospital, but no bullet entered his body.
Police are still looking for the shooter in this case. In the meantime, the clerk says he is just happy to be alive.
"People can say that it's God or pure luck. But I think it's God. It's amazing that could happen," said a man on the street.
