News Minute: Here's the latest Connecticut news from The Associated Press

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Police say they have charged a Connecticut man with making a call in November in which he falsely claimed an armed man was on his way to shoot up Yale University. New Haven police say that 50-year-old Jeffrey Jones, of Westbrook, has been charged with falsely reporting an incident and other counts.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - It's unclear whether Connecticut lawmakers will approve any legislation this session that would place additional restrictions on the public release of information from homicides as part of an effort to protect victim privacy following the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. The Judiciary Committee failed to act today on one of two competing bills that created a procedure for allowing the public to view and seek copies of images of homicide victims.

NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - New London authorities are investigating a suspicious fire at the offices of The Day newspaper that forced an evacuation of the building last night. No one was injured. The newspaper reports a small fire was burning near the production area and a hallway was filled with smoke when firefighters arrived.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton will be headlining forums in Boston and at the University of Connecticut as she considers another run for president in 2016. The Democratic former secretary of state, U.S. senator and first lady is giving a keynote address this afternoon at the Simmons Leadership Conference in Boston, then travel to UConn in Storrs, to speak at a contemporary issues forum in the early evening.
