SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Scottsdale Police have arrested a 48-year-old man who allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a gun.

About 1 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a home near Via Linda and 136th St. They learned the suspect, Chip Paige, had been drinking heavily and arguing with his girlfriend.

According to police, Paige took out a handgun and ordered his 26-year-old girlfriend to leave. She took their 3-month-old child and the nanny and left the home. Paige allegedly then fired shots both inside and outside of the house.

SWAT responded to the scene and tried to make contact with the suspect, but he refused to negotiate. They eventually made entry into the home and Paige surrendered.

He was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault, endangerment, and various weapons counts.

No one was hurt.
